I am from my room, I am from my bed, I am from my mirror.

I am from the hose. I am from a tree outside, I am from the fence around the yard.

I am from the park. I am from my school and I am from the taco truck.

I am from grandma Isabell.

I am from tamales, tacos and cake.

Juan

I am from a big framed picture of my family in the hallway. I am from a home that has a big TV in the living room. I am from seeing my mom’s favorite vase as soon as I walk through the door.

I am from a swing in my backyard. I am from a dog waiting for me in my front yard. I am from seeing litter in my neighborhood.

I am from seeing dangerous weapons in my neighborhood. I am from trash on the streets.

I am from hanging out with my cousin Fernando. I am from visiting my uncle’s grave. I am from visiting my aunt in her hometown.

I am from “because I said so.”

I am from eating tamales. I am from eating pizza. I am from eating hamburgers.

I am from my bed, I am from food and TV.

I am from soccer balls, cigar ashes and a trampoline.

I am from trash and broken pieces of glass on the ground.

I am from grandma Barbara, grandpa Bryant. I am from uncles Warren, William, Joseph and Nelson.

I am from “twinkle, twinkle little star.” I am from the Barney song.

I am from tacos, enchiladas and corn.

I am from my bed, food and dirty dishes all over the house.

I am from soccer balls, broken glass and beer bottles.

I am from cigarette butts, trash on the ground and broken toys.

I am from my brother George, my Tia Chelle and my dog Mickey.

I am from baby pictures, memory books and baby socks.

I am from my car, a hose outside and grass thats always taken care of.

I am from people on my street and kids from my school.

I am from my grandma Angel, my mom Linda and my dad Ken.

I am from family pictures and vacation pictures. I am from baby shoes that my mom kept and old paintings on the wall.

I am from the green water hose from my old house. I am from the ‘welcome’ sign in the front of my house and gold-colored rocks that we spray painted.

I am from tomato plants on the side of our house and a fake frog hanging from a tree. I am from graffiti on the sidewalk by our house.

I am from my nephew Isaac, my cousin Jonathan and my grandpa John.

I am from “mijo.”

I am from pizza, cheeseburgers and tostadas.

I am from my TV, my bed and the computer.

I am from rose bushes, the hose and a barbecue grill.

I am from flowers, sprinklers and nightlights.

I am from pictures of me when I was little.

I am from tacos, chicken-fried steak, hamburgers, taquitos and chilli beans.
