We'Ced Art Show! This Saturday, 3pm, we will be showcasing multiple art works created by black artists! We will also be showcasing and releasing out newest publication, Overlooking Pink, at the event.

Food and drinks will be provided. We know its going to be H O T that day so we will have the building cold and fresh!.

"As protests break out on the campuses of universities across the country in support of Palestine, local organizers and students come together to make their thoughts known here in local Merced. Similar to many other students across the United States, such as on campuses at UC Berkeley, UC Irvine and Columbia University, UC Merced has set up camp with a clear message to the regents of California. “We’re not quitting until you divest from Israel.” While the encampment has been going on for a while, on May fifteenth, the UC Regents of California came to have a meeting on the campus of UC Merced for the first time ever in the history of the UC Regents."

On May 30th 2024, youth organizations and young people from the Central Valley including youth from @wecedyouth, @movingforwardmerced, @youthunitedmerced, @you.are.sacred, @repthe559 and @theknowfresno partook in Attorney General Bonta’s Youth Community Conversation in Fresno, California. The topics and issues the young people brought up and discuss were criminalization of BIPOC folks, police brutality, Islamophobia, housing insecurity, environmental harm/access to clean water, representation in politics, our tax dollars being invested in a genocid3 happening in Pal3stine and more. Overlooking Pink, We’Ced’s 12th issue publication, addresses the many struggles that we face under patriarchy. From external forces belittling our existence and the way present ourselves, to the internal battles we face about how we must be a “certain” way. Although patriarchy has existed for generations, does not mean it should continue to live. Each struggle to break away from the societal norm shows that it is possible to live in a world where we love ourselves, physically and mentally.

An art show that showcases the many stories and ex

An art show that showcases the many stories and experiences of black people and communities.
We'Ced Youth Media will be hosting an art show, Saturday July 6, in Merced Ca, and would like to showcase art from black creators. These art pieces can be from Illustrations, to photography, to filming to etc. Submission is free. And feel free to send as many pieces as you wish. It can be a physical piece and we can arrange a time to drop off or pick up. You can also submit digital pieces too.

Deadline: June 28, Friday.

We'Ced youth joins The Central Valley Pride Center in The Merced Christmas Parade.

We'Ced Christmas Parade

As our mother changes seasons, young people from Merced put together a ceremony honoring Tlakaxipehualitztli, or the Spring Equinox. During this time, we welcome back the sun and all that it brings with him, we acknowledge Xipe Totec, and we see the skin of our mother tonatzin change and our harvests bloom. This is a time of renewal, of reflection in processes that are death and birth. We honored this time by laying down our tlamanallis, one for each direction, welcoming the youth, the warriors, our ancestors, the female and male energies, as well as creator and tonantzin. With intention, joy, and reflection we are guided to transition and continue our journeys.
