Adrian Garcia, a high school student, commented that candidates had well thought-out answers. He said he appreciated Gallardo for being “straight to the point” with his answers and said he would most like to see the need for youth jobs addressed.

Claudia Corchado, said that although she enjoyed the event, the overall local conversation on youth involvement is still not deep enough: “It’s a one-sided conversation. We need to be talking with youth, not about youth.”

Jennifer Mockus, a parent and health advocate, thought the event was very important and found it insightful. She said she is looking forward to how the new city council addresses the issue raised on the youth council.
