I would vote because I would like the best for my country. It’s important to vote and my vote could help our government and country be better.

If I could vote this election I would vote on something to help cut back on water because we are in a serious drought and we keep getting shorter and shorter in our water supply. We will die of thirst if this continues to happen.

Voting would give me a say! It’s important to me because everyone, including myself, has their own opinion on what they think is right and should be able to voice it.

If I could vote, I would vote in favor of legalizing marijuana. So many people already do it even though it’s not legalized that what would be the difference? We would now be able to tax it and that’s a good thing.

Sonia Hernandez, 15

Voting is important to me because it makes me feel patriotic. Voting would give me freedom and let me choose what happens in my country. I will get to have a say for once.

If I could vote this election I would vote for Prop 1 because it saves our water and our marine animals. I would also vote for Measure T because all sections of Merced should have a say in this city. As of now, everything is one sided because the city council are all from the non-ghetto side of Merced.

Katy Damigo, 15

Voting gives me a sense of freedom. Voting gives me a sense of nationalism. Just the thought that my vote could possibly change the outcome of a situation is enough to get me excited to vote [when I turn 18].

I would vote no on Prop 47 because I’m against letting prisoners out. I would vote yes on Prop 1 because saving water would help people in future droughts. I would vote against splitting Merced into voting sections because it may create more work for the county.
